What better way to enjoy a cocktail or chilled drink than with a nice view over the city of Barcelona? In a city packed with fantastic rooftops and terraces, it is not an easy task trying to find the perfect one. But, fear not, to try and help you discover the perfect spot to wine, dine & enjoy tapas with a view, we have put together a list of our favourite rooftop bars in Barcelona.
Almost every hotel in Barcelona has a rooftop. Some with a swimming pool and beach beds and some with a nice terrace and a view. Something good to know before you try and visit a rooftop, is whether you need to be a guest of the hotel to use the beach beds at the swimming pool. However, the terrace is usually open for a drink for the general public! Unfortunately at most places you can not make a reservation for drinks, but a lot of rooftops offer dinner or lunch where you actually can make a reservation. Keep in mind that the rooftops in Barcelona are normally quite expensive, so paying double the price for a beer or wine is the norm. Oh and one last thing, we’d definitely recommend visiting the rooftops with sunset views for an unforgettable and beautiful view over the whole city.
Iberostar Selection Paseo de Gracia
This rooftop is truly impressive and has an amazing infinity swimming pool. Located on the famous 'Passeig de Gracia', this rooftop offers one of the best views of Barcelona. The rooftop is on the 7th floor and Plaça Catalunya is right underneath you! It has such a relaxing atmosphere and is perfect to enjoy a cocktail with a spectacular view over the whole city!
Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona - La Dolce Vitae
An incredible rooftop on the top of the Majestic hotel 'La Dolce Vitae' also located the Passeig de Gracia. The rooftop certainly lives up to the expectations that come along with the hotel’s reputation. It has amazing views of the Sagrada Família and Montjuïc and has an extensive culinary offer supervised by Michelin-star chef Nandu Jubany (this is why it also has higher prices than others).
Ohla Barcelona
The rooftop of Ohla is exactly where you want to spend your perfect nummer night and have a drink. This rooftop has a beautiful view over the city and the Cathedral in El Gotic. I really enjoy coming here and hanging out with friends. The prices are a little bit high, but the experience is worth it all!
Sercotel Rosellón
On this rooftop you can see Antoni Gaudi's true masterpiece of Barcelona (which is still not quite finished). The hotel is in front of the Sagrada Família. There is no swimming pool but the view is breathtaking. You can also have a little snack here together with your drink and take in your surroundings.
The Barcelona EDITION
There is something special about this rooftop. It is located in the beautiful area of El Born, a prime location in the city centre! Close to the Santa Caterina market, this rooftop has panoramic views all over Barcelona and especially el Born. The terrace is cute with lots of plants and has a luxurious appearance.
1881 per SAGARDI
This rooftop is located in the middle of the busy harbour area, at the top of the Museu d’Història de Catalunya .The bar has a good selection of drinks and snacks and usually has live music (usually a dj) and an amazing view over the whole harbour area! A must visit if you are going to Barceloneta or after the beach.
NH Collection Barcelona Gran Hotel Calderón
Eleven is located in the heart of Barcelona, just next to Passeig de Gracia Boulevard and offers such an impressive rooftop experience! Situated on the 11th floor of the NH Collection Barcelona Gran Hotel Calderon, you have am unbelievable 360 degree view all over Barcelona. They serve nice cocktails in total and also a selection of snacks. This rooftop offers a trendy lounge vibe and is another great location to enjoy one of the incredible Barcelona sunsets.
