About the Role
Are you an experienced travel professional looking for your next challenge in one of Europe's most vibrant cities? We're looking for a Project Manager – Groups to join our FCM Meetings & Events team in Barcelona.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional already based in — or looking to relocate to — Barcelona, who thrives in an international environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional corporate travel experiences.
In this role, you'll take full ownership of end-to-end group travel projects, serving VIP corporate clients primarily from the Spanish & Swiss market. You'll work at the intersection of client management, operational excellence, and financial performance — a truly dynamic and rewarding position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
What You'll Be Doing
🗂️ Project & Client Management
- Build and develop the foundations of a Groups Management service for emerging markets, managing dedicated accounts and strategic clients
- Lead group travel projects from conception to delivery (full A to Z project management)
- Deeply understand each client's policies, specific needs and expectations, and embed them into every project
- Deliver a premium, high-touch client experience with consistency and proximity
- Participate in internal training sessions and supplier workshops related to Groups processes
✈️ Operations Management
- Coordinate the full operational scope of group travel: flights, rail, car rental, hotel accommodation, and digital tools such as Cvent
- Manage client communications (calls and emails) within agreed SLA timeframes
- Build and manage relationships with external suppliers, negotiating terms where needed
- Handle complaints, incidents or disputes related to assigned client accounts
💼 Financial & Commercial Management
- Oversee the full financial cycle — from budget feasibility through to post-event reporting
- Maximise the profitability of the business unit through tariff optimisation and cost-reduction strategies
- Manage invoicing and financial reconciliation processes linked to group services
- Proactively identify opportunities for savings, margin improvement and commercial efficiency
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience in group travel management, MICE, or corporate events
- Background in project management with excellent organisational skills
- Experience working with international or multinational corporate clients
- Familiarity with GDS systems and group travel tools (Cvent is a plus)
- Financially literate — comfortable managing budgets, P&L tracking and reconciliation
- A client-first mindset with strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Fluent English & Spanish are essential; French, German or Italian is a significant advantage (given our Swiss client base)
- EU work authorisation or valid Spanish work permit required
